Breastfeeding/postpartum: The Marquette Method has specific protocols designed for postpartum and breastfeeding women to help identify ovulation - even before the return of your menstrual cycle.  Marquette has a structured, monitor-based breastfeeding protocol, which many find simpler than mucus-only approaches during postpartum hormonal fluctuations.

Irregular cycles: Using Marquette additionally gives unique insight into irregular cycles, including PCOS. Because it measures hormonal biomarkers rather than relying on cycle length prediction alone, it offers objective insight even when cycles are long, delayed, or unpredictable. Individualized instruction and chart review are especially helpful in these cases.

What if I’ve been on hormonal birth control?

How much should I expect to invest in learning and practicing the Marquette Method?

The introductory session is $100. You’ll also need the Clearblue Fertility Monitor, which costs about $150, and test sticks, which are $40–$50 each: both of these can be purchased with FSA/HSA funds. For women with regular cycles, sticks are typically purchased about 3 to 4 times per year, and more frequently for breastfeeding mothers.

I am looking for an NFP class for Marriage Prep for my diocese. Does this count?

Yes! The Marquette Method is recognized by the USCCB and meets their Standards for Diocesan NFP Ministry. I work in partnership with the Diocese of Wheeling-Charleston. If you are preparing for marriage in another diocese, I would still be delighted to serve you and walk alongside you as you prepare for this beautiful vocation. I encourage you to speak with your pastor or marriage preparation coordinator before registering for classes, and if your diocese has any additional requirements, I am happy to work with you and your parish to meet them.Upon request, a Certificate of Completion will be provided to you at completion of the course.
